The purpose of this organization is to promote awareness of women’s issues and unity among Missouri University of Science and Technology students through:
Community involvement including fundraising and volunteerism to benefit local organizations that support women’s physical and mental health and well being (e.g. Russell House).
Fostering friendship and responsibility through involvement in campus activities including St. Patrick’s celebration, Intramural sports, Homecoming, and other campus events.
Providing social activities for Greek and non-Greek students to promote unity among Missouri University of Science and Technology students (e.g. participating in activities with other campus organizations such as Sigma Chi Derby Days, dinners, dances, float trips, etc.).
Providing educational events geared towards promoting women’s physical and mental health such as self-defense classes and date-rape seminars.

Scholarships:

ROMO: The most critical time in a student’s life is his first semester at college; it is when a student
develops his study habits. Habits that a student forms his freshman semester can dictate the type of
student that he becomes. Sigma Nu offers this GPA based scholarship to motivate each student and
reward those who retain their study habits. The ROMO Scholarship is offered in two parts. Firstly, it is
awarded to Freshmen following each of their first two semesters and the awards are:

$250 for a 3.0 or greater
$500 for a 3.5 or greater
$750 for a 4.0

Hasselmann Fund: The Hasselmann Fund Scholarship was established in Honor of an alumni of our
chapter, Karl F. Hasselmann. He gave a portion of the proceeds from an oil well to our fraternity, which we use to help reduce the financial burden of Missouri S&T for our out of state members. The
Hasselmann Scholarship is for out of state students and it pays the entirety of the House Bill and meals

Requirements:
• Live out of state
• Received at least a 3.25 GPA in the previous semester at MST
• Score 30 or higher on the ACT
• Be in the top 10% of your graduating high school class

The new house was constructed and completed in the Fall of 2019. The brothers of Sigma Pi Fraternity complete community service hours, and philanthropy donations, and participate in Greek Life events for members to build character and leadership. The Purpose of Theta Xi is to provide a college home environment for its active members in which fellowship and alumni guidance lead to wholesome mental, moral, physical, and spiritual growth. To that end Theta Xi actively supports and augments college and community efforts to make individual members more mature and chapter groups more useful units of society. Through its alumni and undergraduate leadership Theta Xi endeavors to assist each member to develop:
