The Badges of Entrepreneurial Excellence program recognizes the achievements of Missouri S&T students beyond the classroom. The badges are an iconic celebration of participation in experiences designed to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.

Membership Benefits
A student who fulfills the requirements for a badge will receive:
• Digital badge/certificate for LinkedIn.
• Physical button/badge of that focus area (start with digital badge).
• Wording for use in resumes and cover letters.
• Invitation to the Badges of Entrepreneurial Excellence Dinner, which will include S&T Alumni, hosted each semester.
• A portfolio report verifying the events/activities the student participated in for that badge.

A student who completes all five badges will receive:
• Badges of Entrepreneurial Excellence sweatshirt/t-shirt/jacket.
• Stole for graduation.
• Certificate of completion (both printed and digital).
• Letter of recommendation regarding skills/experiences participated in through the program.

As you embark on this journey, the following steps will guide you:
1. Join Sub-Groups: There are five different badge areas: Leadership, Social Responsibility, Design and Build, Research, and Entrepreneurship. You may choose to pursue one or more badges at a time. To select your badges, please visit your Group page for the “Badges of Entrepreneurial Excellence” in MinerLink. In the “Join Sub-Groups” section, select the sub-groups corresponding to the badges you wish to achieve.
2. Complete Assigned Checklists: Based on the sub-groups you select; you will be assigned specific checklists. It is necessary to complete all items on these checklists, reaching 100% completion, in order to receive a badge.

The Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellows Program (Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows) is one of several new initiatives established through a generous gift of $300 million from June and Fred Kummer, longtime benefactors of Missouri S&T. This program is designed to help Missouri S&T realize Mr. and Mrs. Kummer’s desire to encourage innovative-minded students to pursue doctoral degrees to strengthen applied research, technological innovation, and economic development in the region, state and nation.

Membership Benefits
The Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows Program is limited to no more than 100 scholars each year. The program is open to domestic and international students. Each Kummer I&E Fellow will receive a 12-month fellowship (paid out semesterly) and tuition remission for required course work for up to four years.

The Kummer Vanguard Scholars Program is designed to support success as a student at Missouri S&T and to expand thinking around the five core areas: Entrepreneurship, Research, Design and Build, Social Impact and Engagement and Leadership.

Membership Benefits
The program is limited to no more than 400 STEM scholars each year. Students from around the world will be selected based on academic and non-academic criteria. Each Kummer Vanguard Scholar will receive $1,000 to $3,000 a year for up to four years, and the scholarships may be combined with other university scholarships to provide a broader array of financial support for students.

A transformative engineering education goes beyond preparing students with strong technical skills. At Missouri S&T, we are equally dedicated to providing our students with the mindset and skills needed for self-knowledge, curiosity and the ability to recognize and create value. This is part of our core mission to prepare all our students to “shape the future.”

The Leadership and Innovation for Futures in Engineering (LIFE) program takes this commitment a step further by providing a smaller cohort of engineering and computing students with a comprehensive leadership training experience. This program is run through the dean’s office in the College of Engineering and Computing in cooperation with the chairs of our engineering departments and alumni. Students in the LIFE program will participate in a variety of leadership-building activities and take advantage of special networking opportunities, funding for travel to leadership conferences and individualized mentoring experiences.

The Learning Enhancement Across Disciplines (LEAD) Program offers two types of learning modalities (LEAD Drop-in & LEAD Group sessions) to students who wish to increase their understanding, improve their skills, and validate their mastery of concepts and content in a wide variety of foundational courses to achieve their full potential.

All LEAD Group sessions provide student-oriented Learning Centers staffed by discipline-based faculty and accomplished undergraduate Peer Learning Assistants who guide students in the learning process within an atmosphere of cooperative engagement and teamwork.

Student Health Services delivers healthcare to the Missouri S&T students in order to enhance personal and professional achievement.

Our mission at Student Health is to keep students healthy and reduce the amount of class time missed due to illness. Student Health is here to care for students if they get sick or injured while on campus. We provide non-emergency medical treatment for most illnesses and injuries and serve as a urgent care.
