The Missouri S&T Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers provides extremely important value to our members. We meet once every two weeks (alternating Wednesdays with Architectural Engineering Institute S&T) lasting around an hour with an industry leader talking about their professional job, representing their company, presenting various civil engineering projects, or providing different tips for being a professional engineer with provided pizza! Civil engineering students practice working together effectively, and we promote a spirit of congeniality. We accomplish this vision by offering one or two service project opportunities per semester as well as through competitions, industry exposure, leadership, professional development, networking, social events, and scholarships. We also organize the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) review sessions in BCH, with professor guidance and by selling FE review manuals. To contribute to the improvement of the profession, Chi Epsilon fosters the development and exercise of sound traits of character and technical ability among civil engineers, and its members by precept and example, toward an ever higher standard of professional service.

Founded on the campus of Oklahoma State University on November 27, 1919, Kappa Kappa Psi is a guiding light with which band students can grow, learn, and develop themselves and their band programs. The educational value to the student of participation in a smaller group’s activities cannot be overemphasized. Welcome to the S&T Astronomical Research Society (STARS). S&T Astronomical Research Society (STARS) aims to develop a greater interest in and aptitude in the area of astronomy within the community. Our organization is open to anyone who is interested in learning and sharing knowledge about astronomy and astrophysics!

We are also responsible for the campus observatory events. Built in 1973, the Missouri S&T Observatory is located at 1550 N. Bishop Ave. (Highway 63 North), adjacent to the university’s Stonehenge replica, north of McNutt Hall and west of St. Patrick’s Lane. Visitors’ Nights at the Observatory are free of charge and no reservations are required. Each observing session is open-ended. Children are welcome to attend but must be accompanied by an adult. All visitors must be able to ascend a short set of stairs to view the object through the telescope.
