Hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Sponsored by Exxon Mobil | Rapid, ChemE Cube is an annual student competition in which undergraduate university teams design, build, and demonstrate a one-cubic-foot plant to produce chemistry defined in the annual problem statement. This year, the problem statement is Direct Air Capture + Regeneration. We had a virtual qualifying presentation last spring and then go to Boston, Massachusetts to compete internationally this fall. Meetings take place in Bertelsmeyer 110H on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7 PM.

The mission of the Concrete Canoe Team at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is to provide students with the opportunity to design, construct and complete a canoe made of concrete. This unconventional challenge motivates the team to come up with creative solutions to a seemingly impossible task - making a boat of concrete float. This organization allows the members to gain invaluable experience with every step of the design process from conceptual design to a finished product. Through the spirit of intercollegiate competition, this project hopes to foster leadership, teamwork and project management skills.

Synthetic biology is the engineering of biological systems to create solutions to current problems in medicine, agriculture, environmental contamination, and energy, just to name a few. iGEM is an international collaboration to create an open gene library full of standardized biological parts for genetically modifying organisms. Teams from over 26 countries meet annually in the fall at the Regional and World Jamborees to present research, discuss the progress of synthetic biology, network with other teams, and, of course, compete. The Missouri S&T iGEM team is an interdisciplinary design team that uses synthetic biology to help solve the world's problems.

Our competition season runs Jan-Dec and we have meetings once or twice a week. New members are always welcomed any time of the year and please reach out if you have any questions!

Missouri University of Science and Technology’s Solar House Design Team empowers the next generation of leaders to build a sustainable future. This is accomplished by developing a sustainable, innovative, and original design for the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. The team possesses a wealth of experience from nine previous competitions, which provides opportunities for students to learn from previous competitions. By understanding the successes and failures of past homes, the team is improving their design and construction processes. Each new home improves the University, community, and environment through focused research, public education, and sustainable design. The team uses hands-on learning to reach its goal of promoting sustainability in a constructive way that allows students to apply what they learn in the classroom in a real-world setting. Our team encourages one another to research and implement innovative practices and designs that interest them to keep each member fully involved and engaged in not only the project, but to the team as well.

To do this, Sustainable Engineering is creating a design for the ASCE 2025 Sustainable Solutions competition, which explores a new civil engineering challenge yearly.
