The Missouri S&T Student Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers provides extremely important value to our members. We meet once every two weeks (alternating Wednesdays with Architectural Engineering Institute S&T) lasting around an hour with an industry leader talking about their professional job, representing their company, presenting various civil engineering projects, or providing different tips for being a professional engineer with provided pizza! Civil engineering students practice working together effectively, and we promote a spirit of congeniality. We accomplish this vision by offering one or two service project opportunities per semester as well as through competitions, industry exposure, leadership, professional development, networking, social events, and scholarships. We also organize the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) review sessions in BCH, with professor guidance and by selling FE review manuals. A student who fulfills the requirements for a badge will receive:
• Digital badge/certificate for LinkedIn.
• Physical button/badge of that focus area (start with digital badge).
• Wording for use in resumes and cover letters.

• A portfolio report verifying the events/activities the student participated in for that badge.

A student who completes all five badges will receive:

As you embark on this journey, the following steps will guide you:

Hosted by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Sponsored by Exxon Mobil | Rapid, ChemE Cube is an annual student competition in which undergraduate university teams design, build, and demonstrate a one-cubic-foot plant to produce chemistry defined in the annual problem statement. This year, the problem statement is Direct Air Capture + Regeneration. We had a virtual qualifying presentation last spring and then go to Boston, Massachusetts to compete internationally this fall. Meetings take place in Bertelsmeyer 110H on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 7 PM.

Engineering, the application of scientific principles to the practical needs of society, is assuming a constantly increasing responsibility for the well-being of all people, and thus calling for competence of the highest order. This responsibility can be discharged only by a professional group whose members who possess a good basic technical ability, intelligence, moral integrity, and effective social poise in their relationship with the larger community of which they are part.

To contribute to the improvement of the profession, Chi Epsilon fosters the development and exercise of sound traits of character and technical ability among civil engineers, and its members by precept and example, toward an ever higher standard of professional service.

It was founded at the University of Illinois in the Spring of 1922 to recognize and honor Civil Engineering students and professionals, and now has 143 chapters at universities across the United States and beyond. In the Fall, we focus on recruitment and developing new and returning players, teaching them more and more about the game. In the Spring, we tend to get more
competitive, preparing for the College Championship Series.

We practice every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Practice Football Fields.
All are welcome to come out to practice and join us, no prior experience necessary!

Miner Threat is Missouri S&T's club ultimate frisbee team. Our mission is to practice regularly as a team and travel to compete in weekend tournaments. We typically attend 4-7 tournaments a semester. In the Fall, we focus on recruitment and developing new and returning players, teaching them more and more about the game. In the Spring, we tend to get more
competitive, preparing for the College Championship Series.

The mission of the Concrete Canoe Team at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is to provide students with the opportunity to design, construct and complete a canoe made of concrete. This unconventional challenge motivates the team to come up with creative solutions to a seemingly impossible task - making a boat of concrete float. Synthetic biology is the engineering of biological systems to create solutions to current problems in medicine, agriculture, environmental contamination, and energy, just to name a few. iGEM is an international collaboration to create an open gene library full of standardized biological parts for genetically modifying organisms. Teams from over 26 countries meet annually in the fall at the Regional and World Jamborees to present research, discuss the progress of synthetic biology, network with other teams, and, of course, compete. The Missouri S&T iGEM team is an interdisciplinary design team that uses synthetic biology to help solve the world's problems.

Our competition season runs Jan-Dec and we have meetings once or twice a week. New members are always welcomed any time of the year and please reach out if you have any questions!

The Kummer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctoral Fellows Program (Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows) is one of several new initiatives established through a generous gift of $300 million from June and Fred Kummer, longtime benefactors of Missouri S&T. This program is designed to help Missouri S&T realize Mr. and Mrs. Kummer’s desire to encourage innovative-minded students to pursue doctoral degrees to strengthen applied research, technological innovation, and economic development in the region, state and nation.

The Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows Program is limited to no more than 100 scholars each year. The program is open to domestic and international students. Each Kummer I&E Fellow will receive a 12-month fellowship (paid out semesterly) and tuition remission for required course work for up to four years.
